Sarah
Noticed the other day that in the back of my barracks, all on the filter wool there seems to be this really gross looking algae sorta thing. Pretty yukky... not in the front bit with the fish, though... upon closer inspection, there are little critters, kinda like mites or something similar... should I be worried? Do anything or leave it? Sarah
Nope, I'll try and get photos after I finish my lunch. They look like actual mites, walking around on the top of the sump bit.
Fletch
I would clean it all out.
Sarah
Think I will clean it out... only seems to be a layer on top so maybe I'll just scoop the affected parts and see if that works.

Sarah
Mm possibly... will have a closer look tomorrow. Not in the water, just ontop of the filter wool (tiny bits sticking out of water/on water edge).

Matt_95
Cyanobactria, they would be mites, they won't bother this fish though.
