Xsilver368
I have a 95L community tank that is housing 5 endler guppies, 5 rummy nose tetra, 1 betta girl, 2 male dwarf gourami, 2 upside down catfish, 2 bristlenose cats Is this ok or is it overstocked? Kind regards Jess.
Fletch
All depends on your filtration and if you have live plants.
Xsilver368
I have a few live plants, java fern and a floating plant that I cant remeber the name of but I have never had live plants before so just wanted to start with a few, I have an internal filter that helpfully has no brand or anything on it. I do water changes weekly about 20-30%.
Fletch
Do you test your water for ammonia, nitrate and nitrite? This is a basic test kit available from all LFS and is a must. This will answer your question. You might be able to even cut down on wc.....maybe.Ps. Take in a sample from the tank, BEFORE you do a wc, to your LFS and they should be able to test it for you. paul
You could check www.aquadvisor.com There's a calculator that checks if you're overstocked - but it needs to know filtration (guesstimate it by using a surrogate brand filter with equivalent flow rate). Might give you the answer you need.
Xsilver368
Thanks, I took a sample of my water to LFS about 2 weeks ago and everything was good, so if the levels are all ok then I suppose the tank/filter is handling the amount of fish in there.
