  1. I'd love it if we could have even 1/5 of that impressive a show here in Sydney!
  2. There is a sub-forum Shutterbugs that has some photography tips, in case people have forgotten :D
  3. LOL at Jagerbombs! Sorry, totally OT. I think this tank is stunning. I also hate bog ugly heaters .
  4. it looks great!!!! just a word of caution - be careful that the betta's finds can't snag on the plants (assuming they're plastic).
  5. I thought I posted this morning about what a nice tank that is. Meh, am so disorganised. Those rocks will look great! Can't wait for photos.
  6. re the substrate, you guys may be thinking of the Amazonia-type plant growing substrates. I understood that sand would increase alkalinity, not acidity, as it would presumably have some shells etc in it... I could be making assumptions though. Anyway, crushed glass would be quite inert. Also, most fish (and shrimp, I am told) will intensify their colours against a darker substrate.
  7. Hehe! Have you shown him a mirror? Hope that's not a dumb question. He reminds me of my 1st MG, which Jodi sent me from Wet Pets. Ahh, the memories.

    new here

I assume if there was another transhipper in Australia, we'd all know about it! Your LFS can probably order fish for you, but not specific fish you won on Aquabid. Jodi has worked very hard to establish the relationships with the Thai breeders that are necessary to enable us to access those fish, so what she charges is very reasonable and certainly is money well spent
  9. Sounds like you got some fish from Robert and Joanne Welcome to AAQ. http://ausaqua.net/files/sexingbettas001.html
  10. you sound so enthusiastic, it's great!
  11. he's a blue/yellow bicolour also known as a Mustard Gas. I can't critique from these photos though - we can't see his fins properly
  12. I think he's really beautiful!
  13. you know there's a search function at the top of the forum? :)
  14. ok, there are a few recent intro posts that I can't approve as they don't comply with the requirements above. If you've posted an intro a while ago and it still isn't visible, chances are you need to put a bit more pertinent info in it so I can update your permissions. Lisa

    Hello

well done! From 2 weeks on it gets easier :)
  16. Hi Brooke. I always liked convicts, but the population control issue seemed like a problem. Sounds like your guy's taken care of that in his own 'special' way! :)
  17. sorry, but I won't approve your intro post until you provide at least some general indication that you're legitimately interested in fish. The information at the top of the forum makes some suggestions regarding content. I hope this doesn't offend anyone who just wants to say "Hi all, nice forum" rather than something a bit more enlightening, but it's for the good of all members, who do not want to be subjected to spam or (for the most part, presumably) porn on a fish forum.
  18. Bill's a blue/yellow bicolour (AKA "Mustard gas") - and he is stunning!

    Hi there

Hi Becki! Great to meet you. The Aqua One barracks seem pretty popular. A few members have them.
  20. Hi! I think you'll find there are a few - look at the Breeder Registry. Glad to have you here . What kind of bettas do you breed?

    Hi :)

Hi Jimmy, your new planted tank sounds great. I have always loved axolotls, but I can't provide the cool temps they need. Welcome to AAQ!
