  2. Hi, we like fish too.

Is it rude to just cut and paste from my last "hello" to a new member?

I don't care, I'm lazy - gunna do it anyway.

    Hey SAF, Syno,

  3. Hey SAF,

Don't know how literally you want to meet members, but we meet 4 times a year under the guise of the Victorian Betta Group - we have a website, nametags and everything!

    Oh my god.

We sound like freaks from the interwebs.

    Oh well - mostly true.

  4. Oh my god.

The colour on the first one is trés beau, i love the dark wild stripe on the dorsal fin, over the dark body and oh - oh - pale blue dragon scale (I'm dribbling, pass me a towel)

I wonder what he'd throw in his prodgeny, that kooky marble gene might gift you with a hundred differently coloured fish! I love him

    BEAUTIFUL body shape.

Matching female seems to have non red 2 (orange) CUTE SQUEE GIRLY

....watch out that copper boy is coming home with me at the next dinner Raff!!!

Really loving the form on the females - strong bodytype!

You've got some really lovely fish - now when are they going in the tank together????

    xx

  5. I don't understand why they do that - yeah effectively it'll rot - my crap lfs tried to sell me ferns and beautiful fancy palms as underwater plants.

Lucky i'm on to them! I totally would have been sucked in if I had't known better.... what's the point?

That's one way to trick a n00b and discourage them from keeping real plants.

I get devo enough when my proper underwater ones turn to sludge...

    stupid crypts.

ANYHOO I GOT PLASTIC PLANTS TODAY!

    wow. ness. really? gross.

I DONT CARE THO they look.. green. and from a distance (across the road) they look great!

    Next step: purple substrate!

  6. Les - my adult fish are all in a barracks, each cell is 40cm long and 10cm wide (30cm high) so they get a good run, and I agree that growing out would be great with a run, but it's just not as practical as a 20 bay barracks like this!

If I could keep up with WC's in the unit, I'd be much happier, currently my grow out system allows for 1lt per fish... so it's not much... i'm happy to go down to 500ml while the juvis are 2cm and under.

    Just expanding my options!

Talking to someone at the moment about a second hand unit... I'll keep y'all posted with the whoelsale options too if anyone's interested.

    x

  7. Thanks Les!

The boys are the only two I've held onto - the other males were blond (yes I know they're useful) but they all had tattered and deformed tails from a bout of velvet...

I still like the original male (dad) so Ive put him in with the girls and isolated the two other boys.

No snakeskin (I think??) in the males - only the lace and the metal coming through on the boys

    I'll look up the PDF

    Cheers
