No mate, no nests here. Just jarred the rest. Need some of those leaves I think. Never bought on line so must investigate this further.
Mine have nothing to build nest under.
-
These are really deceptive. It won't cause a lot of current in the tank and larger bits of solid waste will still need to be manually removed. These more filter the water and harbor good bacteria for ammonia control.
If bubbles are rising from the centre, it is working. A good way to check is I add a small amount of ketapang extract at far end of the tank and you can see it spread through the tank.

Broken toes at that!!!!!! Rofl

Seems a female thing. Lol. I come home from work and whole house changed around. Not good at one am and I kick the lounge.
Anything with tanks will take twice as long as expected. Lol
-
Now you mention it Neffy; I have same tank!!!!!!
-
Well done. He should be very happy there. :-)
-
Mate, they were in community tank that is bigger than coffee jar. Never looked like that
-
Wow. She never had that much color here. Thought she would though.
Please note Betta Police............ This has happened 24hrs AFTER separated and jarred.
Tell me she doesn't like having her own space..........think I better do the rest tomorrow.
-
Are they carded. Never really blown a real nest here? What are they in? Glad they are happy.
-
How they settled in Jarrod?
-
Going to save myself a LOT of work. Going to watch you do it....... Lol
-
Only kidding Shadoh. Was considering crossing with one if yours awhile ago. Don't have to now. Can't wait to see the result. Rekon a small one of your males with your bigger red rocket might be a goer. Your female almost ready.
@Sun Jewels very nice.......... Guess Family Jewels is a bit obvious. Ha ha :-)
-
Let me know how those fish go. If you do alright, I may order a few. Really nice and unusual. Look like bigger fish. Lol
-
Shadoh had a look at both of my adult fish and he does think the are HM. Now have something to work towards with these fish.
Thanks Paul, am excited again about what I may be able to achieve. If I can get a 100% dt ct fry of the quality of the parents I would be a happy man. Better hurry though, as I won't be the only one trying by the sounds of it.

Never seen that last fish before......... beautiful. Where did you get them, are they rare, how big do they grow? How much? Rummy nose great fish. Will let you know if something not right with water quality before any test result...... Love these fish.
Will do a search myself for other fish. Sorry, great pics.
-
So..... Both my parents carry the gene? And I will get 100% dt by breeding two dt? Are these a preferable line of fish? The one posted above looks pretty special. Are they rare?
-
I am sooooooo confused........just can't follow this. Haven't researched it though.
What would I get breeding a pair of dt fry?
-
Wow. Not obvious to me. Too small yet. Remind me of that later please. Memory like a sieve. Lol.
-
Congatulations on color. Red does seem to show very early. Looking good v
-
Make sure you do a spawn log...........can't wait!
-
You may only get a few top quality fish each spawn but wow on those fish. Completely unique. That in itself is special.
-
@Paul no didn't find what I was looking for but after thinking about it, I am not going to cross breed these ones myself. Might try a line of dt if it works out I have some good ones. The genes of these fish seem really strong. My growth rates and color seems really fast compared to most I have been following. Can't take the credit as I do nothing special, so I put it down to the quality of the fish I got from someone.
One goal I do have is to try and preserve this line v
-
After watching the massive variation and change to individual fish that you have just had, I am considering going down that path with my next pair. Got my hands full at present though.
