  1. Please excuse my ignorance but if I put these tubes in, would this be classed as low/medium/strong light? What's the difference between T5 & T8? Thanks for your input. :-) Ps. The tubes are 3ft.
  2. Standard 3ft tank. 150 ltr. Was looking at 7000-10000 k. Not sure about wattage......so I need 45w globe???
  3. I have just got my co2 going. Light bulb is 12mths old so needs replacing. I will be going to Bunnings to buy 2, 3ft tubes, daylight type. What sort of plants will this allow me to grow? Pics would be great as names dont mean much? What else do I need to do? Thanks for any input. :-)

    DIY co2

I have made a easy DIY co2 generator. I have the bubbles coming out of the airline hose under the intake for my canister filter. The bubble goes straight up the pipe. I am getting at least one bubble a second. :-) My question is, will this affect the filter biology at all? Is this a good way to infuse gase into the water?

    newbie

Read up on how to set the tank up for betta, what equipment you need and what water conditions you need. There could be sooooo many reasons for this including the possibility the fish were on the way out before you brought then home. Do your basic research first, then look into setting the tank up and finding your new fish. Look for active fish with clean edges on there fins. No rot or melt. Good luck and don't give up. We all lose fish sometimes. :-) Oh, welcome.
  11. That is awesome. well done. How are you running electricity to the island shelves? Not so sure it would work at my house, two boys (4 & 7) plus a cat. I could see it all going over.
  12. Thanks for that. Great to know. :-) Damn.
  13. If you do find them Ness, I would be interested as well. :-)
  14. One huge advantage with bristlenose, they breed easily and EVERY shop wants em. Helps pay for the hobby. :-)
  15. BettaWan was the man for IAL. He did have an Australian seller but can't remember who. You could still order through him via his website. Can take awhile to arrive though. If you are stuck and can't find any, Jarrod or myself would be able to spare a few.
  16. I fed my growing boys, in a Aqua one barracks, live bbs and had ammonia levels that were of the chart. Did a complete 100% wc and had a spike again three days later. Repeated wc, threw out old wool, completely rinsed and cleaned sponge and media then re-assembled. I then squeezed a sponge filter from another tank into a bucket of that tanks water, then rinsed my new wool in that bucket before I added it to the barracks. No problems since but I don't feed live bbs to fish in the barracks now. :-) Ps.....I would use IAL. I love the stuff.
  17. Wow. He never looked like that before. Amazing.
  18. As above and that yellow CT, wow. Beautiful fish. They all look very happy and healthy. Well done. :-)
  19. Very nice mate. Hope you are planning on breeding. :-)
  20. Just switch your phone off Paul. When you restart it will return to normal. :-)
