  1. What a beautiful boy He looks a little like the father of my current spawn...
  2. Not yet Matt. Still got a permanent home to find and a constitution to draw up. An announcement will be made ASAP.
  3. Hi dwalk, welcome to the forum. . What kinds of fish do you have/plan on spawning? If you've been looking around the forum already, you'll know to expect demands for photos . ...so, I'll get the ball rolling... Got any photos of your fish?
  4. With mine, I got the plastic embroidery canvas from Spotlight and the poster holders from Kmart...
  5. If you want to divide Harry's tank, this is the method I use... http://onedersave.com/blog/529/how-to-keep-multiple-betta-fish-in-one-tank/
  6. Thanks for the info Matt. Nothing goes into the ground here without a thick layer of sugar cane mulch Wow, catnip! My cat will be your new best friend. I used to have a huge bush of it out the back near the fishroon. I saved literally thousands of the seeds when it started dying back, but could never get any to germinate...
  7. We all know Matt never means what he says This time next month he will have more than 1 male betta. Otherwise he will have nothing to compete with at the Betta Australis table shows PS: Matt, thanks for the choko tip. They need heaps of sun, right? Got the coleus cutting while I was shopping at Paddington on the weekend. I'm going to grab a lime green cutting when I go back :D
  8. Good idea about the laser pointer. Could make your fishus chase the beam around the tank or use it to teach them tricks, or you could just ply us with enough G&T that we feel like we are flying around the room and don't notice we are standing still Free tour of my setup is always open to members of the forum... :)
  9. G&Ts and Martinis can be found on the tray at the end of the bar. Grab a glass and weave your way back into the tour group Do it Ness! One room is not enough Kick out the housemates, bettas don't answer back, make unreasonable demands and are easier on the eye *lol*
  10. That's great someone Exactly what we are looking for! Can't wait to make it official...
  11. Thanks guys. Sarah, if you got the underlying message for the yellow CT, I am sure he must have gotten it too I couldn't resist having the choko in plain sight... Have I mentioned I LOVE MY FISH??!
  12. Can't wait to see the butterfly mustard gas Ness! I've had a couple of fry with MG type coloring in my Orange Marble spawn and it has renewed my interest in MG...
  13. *lol* thanks... I guess it rubbed off from obsessively watching her videos... Not only have they taken over my house, they have taken over my life *lol*
  14. So I was busy sorting out tanks and other stuff in the fishroom and decided to take a video of the finished result before it got messy again A couple of points... Sorry about the floater in the dragon barracks - the boy had jumped out of his barracks and I found him half dried out, but still breathing. I scooped him straight up and put him back in the water. Somewhere between that and his closeup, he died Also, I have no idea why I called my halfmoon pair halftails. You can clearly see they have full tails OK - On with the show...
  15. Hey Jennie, welcome to the forum Hope you enjoy the info and the people on here as much as I do. Some of us Brissie betta keepers and breeders recently formed a club. Keep an eye out in the Aquarium societies and meetings section in the forums for the dates of our next meeting. We'd love to see you there :)
  16. The best part is that if you ever get out of the betta scene (god forbid ), you can remove the dividers and plant it up and start breeding angels for me *lol*
  17. I think copper dragons (of any type) are my new favorites :D
  18. Not saying that is any better or worse. I just like the design. Movable dividers means you can give HMs and giants more space if needed. There is room to slide in a black divider so they can't see one another (photo is about halfway down the first page) I wouldn't change what I have now, but don't forget I had to pull it apart and re-assemble it to make it usable...
  19. I was worried about the gap at the bottom, that's why I went for the gravel. You can always cut some plastic mesh to fit each barrack and sit it over the gap...
  20. I found these slim tanks with movable dividers on a Japanese site and thought it would be a perfect setup for bettas. Have a look at the tanks set up with the dividers and sponge filters at the bottom of the first page. A plant in each section and it is perfect! I love the design of the dividers - so simple, yet elegant. They've even thought of having enough room in the slots that hold the divider to insert cards... 21. Why don't you just cover the shrimp tank?
  22. I see it didn't take long for hot lips to settle into her favorite spot - searching the bottom of the tank for food:). I swear these girls would rather eat than spawn *lol*
  23. Matt, is there a reason why you dropped the water level? Also, how many days between the 2 photos?
