  1. I may be wrong, but as you have removed half the plants wouldn't that mean that not as much of the dissolved co2 is being processed?
  2. He and a couple of his brothers have been hiding out in the growout tank with what I assumed was only girls These slower growing boys are all marbles!
  3. If they survive the morph, perhaps he might swap them for a couple more since he was asking about acquiring some morphed specimens.... No matter the outcome, you have done all you can for them and I'm sure you will make them as comfortable as possible during their transition.
  4. Sorry to hear you're going through the stress of morphing again. I hope they make it through to the other side of salamanderhood... How long ago did you notice? Did the heat play a part in triggering the morphing?
  5. Being young and marble, I'd say yes, she will probably change pattern. I'd be keeping the back half of the body under supervision. That blotchy area will probably darken.
  6. He is from my orange marble spawn :)
  7. Thanks Jennie, found a couple of females to match your boy. Will get you photos when I get time...
  8. Yes! I ran the card through another program and recovered another photo... Meet Raylene (named after her ray extensions...) She does have ventrals, they are clear and white and tucked up out of sight. Usually I find males who are in hiding tucking their long ventrals to avoid detection. If it wasn't for the body shape and the fact I saw her short ventrals, I would be suspicious
  9. Does that mean I can hound you throughout the day for updates and photos like you did when I re-scaped my tank??? You can relax, I have so much work on, you'll be lucky to get a couple of texts during the day... :D
  10. I just spent the past 3 hours catching, jarring and photographing the females from the orange marble spawn only for my camera to throw a wobbly and erase the lot. I ran the memory card through photo recovery software only to recover 2 photos of a male I discovered hiding out in the growout tank. The rest will now have to wait until I have the time to have another photography session... So, here is Pierrot, who is a sad little clown indeed after being removed from his harem...
  11. Happy Birthday Sara!

  12. Matt, my Wallichi arrived green with red tips. The colour has not changed...
  13. Thanks guys... Matt, why are u paying $20 for an Apon? I bought mine at Aquagreen for $10. They still have some... Only 1 problem. The bottom layer of sand is starting to turn black. Will take photos when I get home...
  14. The Eleocharis Belem is starting to throw out some runners! I can't wait until I have a lush carpet My Black Dragon HMPK girls have taken up strategic positions around the new scape... This one has claimed a hollow part of the driftwood... Whereas this one is playing Tiger in the grass... Once I photograph the orange marble girls tomorrow, they too will be moved into this tank...
  15. Just finished the first weeks worth of maintenance - scraping algae off tank glass, trimming off dead/dying leaves/stems. Thought you might like some up close and personal shots of what's been going on... The Red Tiger Lotus pretty much melted after I planted except for 1 stem. In the last couple of days, it has been throwing out 1 new leaf a day, so VERY happy with that... The Aponogeton Ulvaceus is another one that melted over the week since planting. The bright side is that for every leaf it has lost, it has thrown out a new one. Every leaf you see here is new and has grown in the space of a week. It has even thrown out a flower spike (actually, it had 2 - I accidently cut it off while cutting off dead growth) It is out of the tank and has grown this much in 3 days... The HM is very happy and will get a trim once it has rooted down... Only noticed today - the red tips of the Rotala Wallichii close up at night and re-open in the morning - regardless of whether the lights are still on at night or not...
  16. LOL... Matt, Sarah knows what's in your head before you even do! Nothing worse than a paranoid milkcrate...
  17. Your top secret tank plans, milkcrate...
  18. Beautiful names Sarah I hope they bring the sun back for you!
  19. :hijack: Hey Matt, my lotus has very long stems, should I cut them off and let the plant re-sprout?
  20. Looking good mate Love that lotus... Don't forget I have your dino spit here too...
  21. Looking good mate! All the best with it this time :)
  22. Thanks Ness, happy to help out if I ever head down your way Just done some tests on the water - I need a new ammonia test kit, so couldn't test for that today... PH - 7.4 Nitrate - 0.0 Nitrite - 0.0 KH - 5°
