Essentially it allows people to sell stuff in a different format to an auction. I've been both seller and buyer and I actually really prefer the fairs to the auctions. As a seller you're not paying as much commission, just a flat fee of $25.

Wow! That's such a big difference! Well done! Is that a power filter? If it has a venturi inlet you could put your CO2 in there and it will help disperse the gas better than the airstone. If it doesn't have a venturi maybe you can place the CO2 tube close enough to the filter so that it sucks up the bubble and then disperses it.

Hi Robin. Welcome to AAQ! Can't comment on the fishless cycle. Haven't tried one before. Do you really think it's necessary to go to that trouble with hardy fish like platies? I've never kept anything particularly sensitive but with general community fish I just set up the tank, add some filter boosting product like Cycle, add the fish and off they go. Sometimes I might leave the tank empty for about a week to allow the cloudiness to settle but that's about it.

He may not have necessarily intended to be dishonest. People have different ideas about what constitutes "very good" condition. But if you're not happy and you want to return it. Then you need to take the necessary steps to dispute it and also be willing to return the item to the seller. If he gives you a refund as a result of the item being disputed then eBay shouldn't charge him the selling fees. There's one thing I don't understand though. If the item was in that bad a condition why did you take it home with you? I would have told the guy straight away that the item was not as described and that I wanted my money back.

But there were plenty of peppermints there, how come you didn't just get them straight away? When Jo and I were talking to one of the breeders, Eddie Tootell, about peppermints, he said that they tended to be quite weak when they were really little. If yours are small then keep them in a tank on their own for a little while until you can put some size on them. Otherwise they can't compete for food with the other fish.

Umm... My tanks have often looked like the first pic when I first set them up. It would have cleared up after a few days. I haven't used Richgro but I don't normally wash my gravel. The finer particles are beneficial for root growth. Indeed I usually add a layer of clay. Spraying the gravel with water from a spray bottle as you're building up the landscape will help reduce the immediate cloudiness.

In my experience eBay and PayPal nearly always side with the buyer. You should open disputes with both. Paypal can take the money off him. Don't leave it much longer though.

Yep. You're a Time Lord now. Didn't you get the memo? You can fix it by going to 'My Settings'. Uncheck DST correction and you'll probably see that 'DST currently in effect' is checked. Save changes and it should show the correct time under the Time Zone field. If not, give us a hoy.

Thanks for those instructions Stefan. I have to say, despite the minor hiccups, I'm rather enjoying the new functionality. It's like getting a new toy. I don't entirely know all the things this new version can do. So I'm looking forward to hearing about what other people discover.

I figured out how to get past the hanging conversion tool and I believe that PMs should now be back.

Still hopeful that we might get PMs back. There is a conversion tool that's supposed to make the old PMs compatible with the new version. But I've attempted to run it 3 times now and it just hangs.
